Liza, Founder, WCM Digital

Say hi to Liza, the founder of WCM Digital in Melbourne. When Liza started the business four years ago, she had a brand new baby and 2 older children. Although it was tough to start, she had a steadfast goal and years of experience, all Liza lacked was the spare time! Liza has since grown the agency to support 15 clients and a team of 8 employees and contractors.

Running a digital agency that mainly relies on face-to-face communication and networking, Liza says that COVID was less of a shift for the team at WCM Digital, and more so for their customers – although the team missed face to face strategy sessions and the familiar faces of their co-working space.

Many customers were initially concerned with the stability of the new COVID landscape or making the transition to e-commerce, Liza and her team were able to reassure them and guide them to success. The transition ended up being the only thing that kept many of them going.

Liza and the team at WCM digital are a core part of their community and believe it is immensely important to give back. They work with many local not for profit organisations like Kidsafe Victoria and offer packages that include pro bono hours.

The team support their local football team by managing their sponsorship sign ups and donate to local charities when they can. Liza and her business partner, Leslie, have been taking on pro-bono work for those who are doing it tough, from providing a few hours of technical digital assistance to full website builds. They also recently aided a local cleaning business by building their e-commerce platform to help them to support their family.

Since the onset of the pandemic, Liza has increased efforts to support small businesses, including the development of a directory website DeliverToMe and co-creators of The Kingston Collective. These sites help local small businesses gain exposure and help their locals find some amazing hidden gems in the community

The Kingston Collective is readying to launch The Kingston Community & Business Awards, providing much needed financial and promotional support to local business and sponsored by Bendigo Bank and Kingston Council.

WCM Digital will continue to help their community navigate the waters in these uncertain times, and Liza says their Zoom calls are always open for those who need advice or a chat about their business’ digital presence.
