A long-term resident in Thirroul and lifelong florist, Tara spotted her dream space to open a shop in a converted old bank – she took the chance when it was offered to found Luca Luna Flowers in the space in April 2017.
Tara was committed to all-natural products, and found several suppliers around New South Wales whose goods she wanted to stock in store. Within six months, Luca Luna had grown to need more staff and Tara employed four locals shortly after.
In spite of the tough challenges faced by residents in the area, Tara has done her best to support her community as only a local can. She regularly supports a local vulnerable women’s charity, Eve Project, by donating vouchers to the store.
