Paul and Natasha founded Holgate Brewhouse back in 1999, and the family owned business continues to share their passion for brewing award winning beer in their state of the art Brewhouse and Hotel; just an hour from Melbourne in the magnificent Macedon Ranges. Much has changed since those days, but their ethos of being family owned and operated has remained the same. When they first started, Tash had to keep one eye on her toddler running around the brewery, while she had another baby on the way. 21 years later they’ve transformed into young adults and work part time in the business.
Thankfully, their brewery and bottle-shop were able to stay open during the restrictions, but as expected not many kegs are being produced due to the shutdown. In their spare time, Paul and Natasha pivoted to offering takeaway food and drink services and developed an online shop which now allows them to deliver their beer Australia-wide.
This was made easier by their dedicated customers who refused to cancel their bookings, instead asking Natasha to hold onto their details so they can re-book when the shutdown ends. Tash says that so many of their customers say they can’t wait to return, and that the team at the brewhouse can’t wait to see them back in store.
For the last 20 years, Holgate Brewhouse has supported local sporting clubs, kindergartens, schools and charities, with either sponsorship or vouchers to use for fundraising. Their local community is everything to them, and this was made even more evident throughout the pandemic, and they can’t wait to get back out their and support their locals again.
