Chris, Owner, Blackbird Café

Only six months ago, Chris, a chef by trade – with the support of his family – opened up Blackbird Café. He has faced the same challenges of thousands of other small businesses in Australia, particularly during the pandemic.

Though they had to make a few difficult decisions, Chris was able to keep on his ‘senior roosters’ at work, while his wife and daughters started spending much more time at the Café pitching in where they can. For his wife, this means working even after her hours as a support worker.
