Meet Alex, the owner and founder of Buster McGee clothing, located on Hepburn’s lesser known Howe street.
Alex moved to Hepburn Springs in 2018 after leaving his job at a large media company in Sydney, and decided to use his experience in digital media and marketing to found Buster McGee, which sells men’s clothing and grooming products. Buster McGee was born out of Alex’s love for fashion, and he focuses on providing awesome customer service and sourcing great products.
Hepburn Springs’ local community is vital to Alex’s, and so many other businesses in the area, particularly in the lead up to the Christmas, and Alex says his locals keep him grounded and encourage him to lift the bar. Even better, they’ve been wearing the store’s purchases around town and posting pictures and stories on social media to help spread the word.
Alex, along with so many of his local businesses, has pivoted during the pandemic to offer additional services such as an online store, click and collect, free local delivery and gift cards, which his locals have been great at supporting through the transition.
He hopes that locals around Australia continue to spend their dollars in a local environment whenever they can. He says that even if you can’t support a local business, just leaving a like or comment on social media helps them more than you know.
